M & T Premium Lawn and Landscape
Seasonal Programme

A year-round programme for premium lawns.

Lawns need different things at different times. Our four-season treatment plan keeps yours thriving — every month, every year.

The annual calendar

12 months of lawn care, one continuous plan

Each season's work compounds on the last. Skip one and the lawn drops a gear; stay the course and it climbs into premium territory.

Season 01
Spring
March – May

Waking the lawn from dormancy. The most important visit of the year — what we do now sets the tone for the next six months.

The science

Soil temperatures climb past 6°C, microbial activity surges and grass shifts from survival mode into active growth. Pre-emergent weed control applied now stops 80% of summer weeds before they germinate.

What we do
  • Wake-up nitrogen feed (slow-release NPK)
  • Pre-emergent weed control
  • Moss treatment & physical rake-out
  • Soil temperature & pH check
  • Spring tonic biostimulant application
Why it matters
  • Fast spring green-up within 14 days
  • Stops weeds before they spread
  • Removes overwinter moss
  • Builds root mass before drought stress
Season 02
Summer
June – August

Sustaining growth, colour and resilience through heat and drought. The season where premium lawns separate from average ones.

The science

Slow-release nitrogen, potassium for cell-wall strength and humic acid for moisture retention. We apply wetting agents to reduce water consumption by up to 30% on hydrophobic soils.

What we do
  • Slow-release summer feed (low N, high K)
  • Wetting agent application
  • Selective broadleaf weed control
  • Drought-stress assessment & advice
  • Optional micro-nutrient tonic
Why it matters
  • Steady green colour even in dry spells
  • Reduced water consumption
  • Continued weed control
  • Heat-tolerant turf for school holidays use
Season 03
Autumn
September – November

The gold-standard renovation window. Warm soils, reliable moisture and minimal weed pressure — this is when transformations happen.

The science

Cooler air and warm soil are perfect for seed establishment. Roots grow up to 5× faster than tops, banking energy for next season. Autumn is the single most impactful visit of the year.

What we do
  • Scarification — thatch removal
  • Hollow-tine aeration — relieve compaction
  • Premium overseeding (UK-bred ryegrass blends)
  • Top-dressing — sandy loam levelling
  • Autumn root-boost feed (high K, low N)
Why it matters
  • Thicker, denser turf within 6 weeks
  • Repaired bare and worn patches
  • Stronger roots for winter resilience
  • Improved drainage & reduced waterlogging
Season 04
Winter
December – February

Hardening the turf and suppressing moss through coldest months. The lawn isn't asleep — it's working underground.

The science

Iron-based hardeners deepen colour and toughen leaf cell walls against frost. Moss thrives in cold damp shade, so iron sulphate applications and drainage checks now save spring work.

What we do
  • Iron-based winter hardener
  • Targeted moss control
  • Drainage check & advice
  • Root-strength feed where appropriate
  • Mower-height & winter usage advice
Why it matters
  • Deep winter green colour
  • Moss kept at bay
  • Healthier spring start
  • Reduced disease pressure (snow mould, fusarium)
